Dr. Hawraa Sameer Sajwani is an internationally trained and highly accomplished Consultant Psychiatrist specializing in Addiction Psychiatry and Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry. With over 15 years of clinical experience—including four years of advanced training in the United States and Canada—Dr. Hawraa is recognized as the first Emirati physician licensed in Addiction Psychiatry.
Her expertise lies in managing complex psychiatric conditions, with a particular focus on substance use disorders, biopsychosocial rehabilitation, and the connection between physical and mental health. Dr. Hawraa has held prestigious leadership roles, including Division Head of the Addiction Unit at SEHA Sheikh Khalifa Medical City.
Beyond her clinical practice, Dr. Hawraa is a dedicated educator and researcher. She has served as a Psychiatry Clinical Course Director at Khalifa University and as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at Gulf Medical University. Her research contributions include published work on addiction, emerging psychoactive substances, and migrant mental health.
